This paper aims to study Stalin's view of the state.Stalin, the highest leader of the Soviet Union after Lenin, led the people of the Soviet Union to win national independence and liberation, actively carried out state construction and completed the socialist construction and transformation, who made great contributions to the development of the Soviet Union and the whole socialism. At the same time,he inherited and carried forward the Marxist theory with much faith in Marxism as a great Marxist. Many international scholars study other research and evaluation of Stalin, and this paper mainly studies on the formation, development and content of his state theory. The paper mainly includes four parts:In the first part, the author analyzes the background and origin of Stalin's national theory. The formation of Stalin's state view has a very distinctive era background. The Russian proletariat grew with the development of Russian industry after the industrial revolution, whose ideological consciousness was also rising along with the spread of Marxism in Russia,so the proletariat had gradually become an important force. With the continued growth of the proletariat, the Russian October Revolution broke out and got the victory. After Lenin died,Stalin came to power to lead the Soviet Union, during which he vigorously strengthened the centralization, implemented highly centralized political and economic model and promoted the rapid development of the Soviet industrial and agricultural economy,so the world's first socialist state(the Soviet Union)was finally established with internal and external problems.Based on Marx,Engels and Lenin's theories,Stalin's view of the state is influenced by Powell and Trotsky, which is the inheritance and development of Marxist state theory. However,Stalin's national theory is contrary to their theories for some reason, which had a significant impact on the whole development of the Soviet Union. In the second part, the author mainly analyzes the starting point of Stalin's state theory.Stalin's central idea is strengthening and consolidating the state. He emphasizes the role of the state and the dictatorship of the proletariat,so Stalinism means to consolidate the state and the state machine, which is completely different from Marx,Engels and Lenin's advocacy for the demise of the state. In the third part, the state functions that Stalin thinks are mainly analyzed.Different from Marx,Engels and Lenin,Stalin believes that the state functions cannot be unchanged but should be changed based on the old functions when the environment at home and abroad has changed. In the fourth part,Stalin's national theory and national policy are analyzed as a very distinctive content of Stalin's state theory.Nation is indispensable as an important part of the state.Soviet territory is vast with many ethnic groups,so ethnic issues are also very prominent as a part of the issue of national liberation,so it is necessary to deal with the national problem.According to the actual situation of the development of the Soviet Union,Stalin formulated a series of measures to safeguard the unity of the various ethnic groups in the Soviet Union, which had promoted the economic development of minority areas.
