The source text is an excerpt taken from a biography named Master of Disaster by Frank Krake,a Dutch entrepreneur.It records his process of start business under the background of globalization and the culture conflicts he had experienced for more than a decade.The translator makes some primary study and exploration on the feature and methods of literary translation in purpose of probe in to methods of several translation strategies and methods,as well as enhance the translator's ability in practice.Due to the difference of expressions between English and Chinese,the translator needs to seek for methods which accord with Chinese habits in expression during the translation.Chapter one is the introduction and chapter two is an introduction to the source text and the features of the source text.Chapter Three makes analysis of typical cases from the perspective of lexical and syntactic translation.In terms of word translation,there are five methods:lexical equivalence,concretizing of abstract words,addition,omission and class shift.In doing sentence translation,four methods are used.They are the method of recasting,the method of division,and the method of abbreviating.In addition,some of the difficult parts which are solved from the perspective of domestication and foreignization and skopos theory are listed.Chapter Four is a brief summary of the translation task as well as a reflection on a list of weaknesses and experience in this report.
