Liu He Tong Chun is a six drama criticism collection with the inscribed signature"Chen Meigong" by Jianyang Shijian Tang in Wanli forty-six years(1618),namely,Ding Juan West Chamber,Ding Juan Pi Pa,Ding Juan Hong Fu,Ding Juan Yu Zan,Ding Juan You Gui and Ding Juan Xiu Ru.As one of the main form of Chinese ancient literature criticism,drama critics had become a common practice with the publishing of drama as well as sophistication of drama critics in the Late Ming Dynasty.Thus,more and more scholar joined the group of drama critics.It was established against this special historical background.The six drama embodied in the Liu He Tong Chun was the most popular one at that time.The existing,presently,is the three editions of Ming and Qing Dynasties and copy reprinted edition at scattered places after 20th century.For comment part,the six dramas can be regarded as typical in Wanli as they have complete critics and symbol,as well as style.The content of the critics in the Liu He Tong Chun is mainly embodied in the following five aspects:firstly,the structure and layout.Grasp the overall structure from the event writing skills.Secondly,plot arrangement.Pay attention to the the structure and the plot in the script of independent events.Thirdly,awareness on the stage.The role of the script and the action is also full of the stage imagination.Fourthly,character.The role of the different settings an be divided into the main character(Sheng,Dan)and other minor characters(Jing,Mo,Chou).Although difference in character,the reviewers were still concerned about character evolution and contradictions of each character.Last but not the least,line outside of the line.Focus on the character language of the similarity and conciseness.Liu He Tong Chun has the background of flourished drama criticism in the late Ming Dynasty.The reflected drama concept has distinctive imprints of the time.For example,express feeling freely and anti-Taoism,ideologically,and the song advocated "three good".The language is natural,and the introduced analogy in the batch,comparison and painting rhetoric is also unique.On the whole,its theoretical value cannot be compared with the edition of Li and Jin critics.However,it undeniably shows the evolution of drama from late Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty.
