The Coastal Defense Research On The North Shore Of Hangzhou Bay In The Ming Dynasty

The coastal defense research in the Ming Dynasty has always been popular in the academic circles.There are lots of literature related to the study of coastal defense in the Ming Dynasty,and new research focus and perspectives have been mentioned constantly.Based on the history of the coastal defense construction in Ming Dynasty as the background,the paper focuses on the coastal defense in the north shore of Hangzhou Bay,to explore the continuous evolution process of coastal defense system and analyze the general mechanism of coastal defense in Ming Dynasty.The selected topic is trying to combine with previous research results with the holistic thinking by using the relevant prefectural monographs and relevant narrative coastal defense studies,to promote the further refined study on the related problems in coastal defense for the north shore in Hangzhou Bay in the Ming Dynasty.North shore of Hangzhou Bay was not far away from Japan,Japanese were also familiar with the route between Hangzhou Bay and Japan,so in the early Ming Dynasty,the north shore of Hangzhou Bay had been invaded by Japanese pirates frequently.Ming government gradually established Wei-So system as the center of the coastal defense system.After the mid-to late Ming Jiajing,,the invasion of Japanese pirates became more serious.Tuo Lin area was once occupied by the Japanese pirates as their lair.At the same time,Ming government adjusted the structure of Wei-so system,and gradually improved the coastal defense system.The strategic position of the north shore in Hangzhou Bay had become even more important.The coastal defense system of north shore in Hangzhou Bay was not merely an important part of the coastal defense system in the Ming Dynasty,but also played an essential role in maintaining local social security.It was a heavy blow to the invasion of Japanese robbers to maintaining the national security.It also had a positive reference for the Qing Dynasty coastal defense construction.
