| Modern design has been in existence for more than one hundred years.With the change of design practice,studies on modern design have began,A lot of research achievements,covering fundamental research,product research,costume research,environmental research and so on,contribute to form the system of design studies.As social software springs up,social networking comes into people's life,in which dynamic micro expressions play more and more important role.However,as a new design system,dynamic micro expression design,seem not to correspond with its practice.With semiotics theory as research method,researching dynamic micro expression design system contained in social software academically from point view of semiotics,constructing types for dynamic micro expressions from semiotic aspect,the thesis elucidates concrete applications of three major theories of semiotics,in other words,the thesis discusses fundamental norms that should be followed in the practical design of dynamic micro expressions in terms of syntactic,semantics,and pragmatics.In this way,the thesis not only forming theoretical system about summarizes the general law in the process of developing dynamic micro expression design but also looks forward to make contributions to guide the practice.Chapter one introduce covering background information,research purpose,research status at home and abroad,and significance of the research that concern with dynamic micro expression design in social software from point view of semiotics.As a new design practice,dynamic micro expression design comes into theoretical field of design studies recently.Many important concepts,features,and properties in dynamic micro expression design do not form complete theoretical “standards”,which makes a great research space for research on dynamic micro expression design.Studying dynamic micro expressions from point view of semiotics means that research on dynamic micro expression design is studied by making full use of theoretical frame of semantics,and pragmatics to expand research field of dynamic micro expression design.Chapter two introduce dynamic micro expression design in semiotics.dynamic micro expressions can be divided into three types that are type construction of “total”originality,type construction of adopting with reference,type construction of combination of semantic multiplicity.Original dynamic micro expressions mainly come from two sources.First One of from original micro expressions installed in social software.The other comes from software users' creation.users with original graphs and signs as contents of performance,to express their certain emotions because they think installed micro expressions cannot fully represent their feelings.Adoptive dynamic micro expressions mainly refer that,in designing,many graphs are borrowed from movies and television plays,expressions showed by well-known people,classic artistic works,and so on.By borrowing from actors' lines,expressions,and scenes,adoptive dynamic micro expressions are used to convey creators' sense of“saying this but referring to that”.in designing dynamic micro expressions,with the method of combining words and graphs in dynamic or static way,reach construction of multiple meanings.Social software users can convey a special complex feeling with “explicit semantic meanings in obscure context” in this way.Chapter three discusses syntactic effects mainly covering four aspect.principles of size design with quick transfer,principles of graph design with rich emotions,principles of color design with clearness,and principles of combining words and graphs with distinct gradation.At first the size principles followed by dynamic micro expressions in social software are restricted by phone size and technical parameters used in social software.Secondly,from pertinence of graph,individualization of graph,and aesthetic value of graph,the thesis makes a theoretical conduction on principles of graph design in planning dynamic micro expressions.Thirdly,Principles of color design in dynamic micro expressions are analyzed from color style,balance of color design,harmony of color blending,and emphasis of color composition.It can help users bring personal inner emotions out fully to follow the way of academic regulations reflected in principles of color design in dynamic micro expressions.This is exactly what color actually functions in being a language of artistic design.Therefore,concerning principles of combination of words and graphs,we integrate words and graphs as a whole from three aspects that are needs of conveying messages,demands of visual guidance,and requirements of appreciating beauty.As a constructing method of micro expressions,graphic collocation can not only improve visual attention paid to dynamic micro expressions but also enrich the value connotation of micro expressions.Chapter four states interpretation and transmission of dynamic micro expressions,mainly covering four aspects that are semantic features reflected in dynamic micro expression signs,multiple semantic meanings of dynamic micro expressions,semantic interpretation of dynamic micro expression signs,and semantic transmission of dynamic micro expressions.Semantic features of dynamic micro expressions mainly include artistic features,emotional features,and readable features.Multiple meanings in dynamic micro expressions refer that the same physical symbol not only has literal meanings(denotations)but also has implied meanings(connotations).It is the analysis of what roles the dynamic micro expressions play(functional meaning),peoples' feelings about micro expressions(aesthetic meaning),and what they represent(symbolic meaning),and so on.Finally,semantic transmission of dynamic micro expressions discusses the fact that a dynamic micro expression work will be given up by vision if it cannot convey semantic meanings within two seconds(according to experimental data from professor Amsterdam Frankie,from perception to decision)and impress audiences.semantic transmission with ambiguity and semantic expressions.reflects in limits of application in designing sign system and in efficient expression of reference of signs.As for dynamic micro expressions in social software,limit of application refers to constriction,from social software,on form of dynamic micro expressions.In other words,both of size on file of dynamic micro expressions and time on maintenance of dynamic micro expressions are limited.Efficient expression of reference of signs is studied from three aspects that are timely application with “shooting the arrow at the target ”,emotional expression with “ scenes putting in ”,emotional supplement and implication with “pragmatic transmission”.All in all,dynamic micro expressions in social software,interpreting the concrete application of semiotic theory,and discussing,from syntactic,semantics,and pragmatics,fundamental principles that should be followed in the practice of designing dynamic micro expressions,the thesis not only forms theoretical frame of semiotic researches on dynamic micro expressions design but also expects the theoretical frame to contribute to guide the practice of micro expression design. |
