This paper is aimed at poems and poetry movements of the War of Resistance in Wuhan at the year of 1938.Through the study, we can restore the actual and plentiful history of poetry, reveal the mental state of people in wartime, and remedy the relatively unsubstantial research status about Anti-Japanese poetry. The discussion will start from the following five parts.The introduction, first of all, is the representation for the present situation of the relevant study and the significance of the research, then, is the demarcation of the content, and at last, is the statement about the methods and the approaches of the research.The first chapter inspects the relationship between Anti-Japanese poetry and times. The key point of this chapter is presenting the social background and the status in the development of all types of literature. From inland view,Wuhan was wartime capital, economic center, cultural leading, military stronghold in 1938. From international view, Battle of Wuhan was an important link in the Anti-Fascist war. This kind of special situation led to the poetic content making the change from the ego mood to the public voice.Compared with the others literary forms at the same time, poetry in wartime literally owns advantages, such as promoting mood, flexible forms, short and various. At that time, poetry sprung up everywhere.The second chapter discusses the theories of the Anti-Japanese War poetry at about 1938. We clarify the relationship between Anti-Japanese War poetry and the May Fourth New Poetry, reveal controversies about poetry reading, the old and new forms of poetry and poetry popularization, probe the influences of these theories on poetic creation and poetry movement.The third chapter places emphasis on the relationship between the wartime poetry and the masses. This chapter states the popularity of poetry according to the following three angles, the poets of different styles, poetic groups and journals. Appreciating and judging the production of the representative poets, such as Gaolan, Aiqing, Xijin Jiang, Difan Zou, BaiShu,Zihao Qin,An'E, Kejia Zang,Ren Jun and so on. Introducing and evaluating the associations, for example, the July School and the Association.Demonstrating literary publications, for example, Popular Song, May, July,The Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art, the supplements of journal ,for example Ta Kung Pao, Xinhua Daily, Resistance which made great efforts to publishing poetry, gathering the poet and producing poetic theories.The fourth chapter reviews the prevailing fashion and communication ways of the Anti-Japanese War poetry in Wuhan at the year of 1938. The popular orientation can be seen from QiuBa Style, Dagu Ci, folk song, ditty,ballad and so on. Reciting, Singing and Printing are distinctive ways of communication, which adapted to the requirement of the popularization.
