An Analysis Of The Examples Of Terminologization In Pansori Imyeon

Compared with Pansori's three or four hundred years of history,Imyeon (in Pansori)is a word with a relatively long history more than one hundred years. It has the meaning of "connotation,deep meaning" and so on,so it is used to refer to the internal art principle in Pansori, which means it has to be a key word in Pansori. However, only little research exists on this word in the academic field. In the overall research of Pansori with many progresses, the study of "Imyeon" is very insufficient either in terms of quality or quantity. Moreover,confusion prevails even about its definition. And the research on the art principle of Imyeon is more rare. Further, there exists almost no linguistic study on Pansori.This paper analyzes the meaning and usage of Imyeon which must be met after entering "Imyeon Theory" based on the theory of syntax and transformational-generative grammar, as well as diachronic linguistics, double-subject theory, linguistic typology, and documentation. If the history and personal understanding of Pansori influence the meaning and usage of "Imyeon",then the meaning and usage of "Imyeon" necessarily reflect the history and personal understanding of Pansori. Starting from this idea, this paper attempts to analyze the Pansori knowledge(cognition) of the times which is reflected from the changing syntax,vocabulary and usage of "Imyeon" with the times.In this paper, three research methods are simultaneously adopted.First, both diachronic and synchronic studies were carried out.Second, both form research and content research were carried out.Third,the simultaneous use of induction and deductive method.The results of the above three methods can be divided into three main conclusions,two problems and a subject that needs to be addressed later:First,when Imyeon is used in general language - the expression is "(?)(?)(words go against Imyeon/ words do not conform with Imyeon)",the syntax of the expression is topic-comment,the conceptual meaning of "Imyeon" is"reason and logic, back and forth".Second, Imyeon began to be used in a specialist area - the expression is "(?)(know Imyeon of sori". The syntax of the expression in which "N.(?)”modifies the subject Imyeon, limits the specialist area of Imyeon and is in the middle of the topic-comment and subject-predicate. The conceptual meaning of "Imyeon" is "the meaning of saseol (text)". During this period, hangul(Korean) has not been popularized,the text of saseol (text) and notes were in Chinese and hangul(Korean) mixed body. Even if there is a hangul(Korean) saseol (text), there is a problem of understanding because of so many Chinese characters and Chinese allusions without Korean annotations. And this expression of "(?)" is thus produced.Third, when Imyeon is used in professional language - the expression is "(?)(Imyeon is adequate/right)",the syntax of the expression is subject-predicate(topic abscission),the conceptual meaning of Kim Yeonsu's "Imyeon"in "(?)(Imyeon is adequate)" is "the reason and logic or back and forth of Pansori saseol (text)",and the conceptual meaning of Seong Changsun's "Imyeon" in "(?)myeon is right)" is "the principle or manner of converting from saseol (text) to Pansori singing". The use case of "(?)(Imyeon is adequate/righty)" in this period compared with the "(?)(words go against Imyeon/words do not conform with Imyeon)" in the first period,in addition to from the general language to professional language, also from the negative form into affirmative form. For its reason the author thinks that it is close related with the rise of the new thought of Deonum((?))and the school education of Pansori. Although there are some changes in saseol (text),the number is limited. It's in an atmosphere of "how to sing Pansori well,and what is good Pansori",therefore the expressions also tend to be positive.Besides, in this paper two serious problems in the research of the concept of Imyeon have been found, which caused the confusion of previous research. One is to disregard the historical development process of Imyeon and to interpret Imyeon excessively with the individual subjective opinion and even modem view. Another is not to distinguish the conceptual meaning of word Imyeon and the situation meaning of the whole expression of Imyeon.After putting forward the "Overall Process of Pansori",this paper points out that the Pansori Imyeon research needs to solve the problems in the third stage of the process,carefully distinguish the classification, concept and scope of the element of Pansori and every subcategory of the element of Pansori. Only in this way could establish a systematic overall process of Pansori, and then further analyze the meaning of Imyeon as an academic language.
