Research On Beauvoir Feminist Theory

The problem of female inequality has existed for a long time. In the long history of human civilization,female exists as "another person". Unbearable of the destiny of being oppressed, female has been struggling for achieving the equality of their rights and their freedom, which is the focus and an urgent problem in worldwide women' liberation movement all the time,concerning every person's free and comprehensive development and the liberation of all human beings.Simone de Beauvoir, as a famous philosopher of existentialism in France in 20th century, is one of significant representatives for modern feminism. Her representative work, The Second Sex, deeply analyzes the reason why female becomes the second sex. It deeply and comprehensively explores the unfair treatment to female in social life,showing a bright way for female liberation. This book is regarded as the "Bible" by feminists and its theoretical guiding significance exerts a deep influence all over the world, establishing her status in intellectual history of feminism. Beauvoir strove to achieve the real freedom and equality of female in her whole life. She devoted everything to create The Second Sex which aroused women' awareness of struggling for rights.Since the publishing of the book, it has caused profound influence all over the world. In western countries, Beauvoir made a deep analysis on the reasons leading to the low status of female through her feminist thoughts, awakening female's self-consciousness and promoting the development of second international female liberation movement. In socialist China, guided by Marxism, its feminism theory occupies an important position in China's feminist thoughts. Based on the current situation of female,China has to, on the foundation of reasonably judging the feminist thoughts from Beauvoir, organize and improve Beauvoir's theoretical framework system and basic connotation by combining with Marxism theory about feminism. In this way, the theoretical function of feminist thoughts by Beauvoir can be played, so as to build the more harmonious bisexual relations.The paper is divided into four parts including introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction illustrates the research background, research purpose and meaning, research contents and methods, domestic and foreign research overview, shortage and innovation of this paper. The text is the main body of paper, which according to the deep analysis on The Second Sex,explores Beauvoir's feminist thoughts and analyzes historical reasons for the low status of female, showing a bright way for female to strive for freedom and liberation, of vital theoretical guiding significance for worldwide female movement for liberation and the establishment of harmonious bisexual relations in China.
