Existentialist feminism takes Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex as a representative work,which comprehensively discusses the situation of women in the male-controlled cosmopolitanism as the second sex,and mainly discusses the origin,gender difference and the content of inequality of gender difference.In the aspect of philosophical theory,Hegel,Heidegger,Sartre and other thoughts directly influenced the formation of Beauvoir’s feminist thoughts.Beauvoir’s existentialist feminist theory is of great significance to contemporary literary criticism and social progress.This paper studies the main content,literary significance,ethical significance and social significance of Beauvoir’s thought.This thesis studies the main content,literary significance,ethical significance and social significance of Beauvoir’s thought.The first chapter elaborates the main content of Beauvoir’s existentialist feminist theory,including the concept of "the other",the existentialist ethical theory,and discusses the situation and outlet of women.The second chapter discusses the contemporary literary significance of Beauvoir’s theory.It includes the significance of The Second Sex in the history of feminist literary criticism,its contribution to the study of female images,and its influence and change on the main content of feminist criticism.The third chapter mainly discusses the ethical significance of this theory.It mainly includes the influence on Chinese and western feminist ethical thoughts,and the significance to the formation of correct ethical values with gender equality as the core.The last chapter mainly discusses the contemporary social significance of the theory,including its influence on the feminist movement and women’s status at home and abroad,its promotion of educational reform and the reconstruction of social relations.The whole article focuses on the methods of historical comprehensive analysis,contradiction analysis,causal analysis and so on to launch a detailed discussion,aiming to highlight the profound influence and great contribution of Beauvoir’s views and theories to the feminist movement and feminist theory in later generations and today.
