China has always been a large immigrant country,around the cultural changes in immigrants and ethnic groups identity,related research quite well written.In this paper,the case of Baima Island in Linxiang County is a case study.In the process of "Baima Bodhisattva",the migration history,the legend of the people and the source of beliefs are sorted out.The author believes that the "Baima Buddha" faith of the fault and revival,in fact,the White Horse immigrants with incomplete historical memory to complete ethnic identity,and in order to better achieve ethnic identity and constantly reconstruct the process of historical memory.First of all,in the interaction with the surrounding villages,the White Horse immigration has always maintained a sense of distance,because the "White Horse Bodhisattva" unique,they especially emphasize the difference with the surrounding villages,specifically reflected in the exclusivity of the Bofu ceremony,refused to any village Outside the people involved.Correspondingly,they also emphasize their own integrity,the village is very united,in the geographical identity on the basis of the establishment of the quasi-blood relationship.Second,on the basis of the completion of ethnic identity,the local cultural elite led by the White Horse immigration,the common historical memory of the adjustment and reconstruction,to create "Li Bai descent said," "White Horse is Li Bai" and so on.This actually reflects the local people's cultural status and social resources demands,is a positive and open cultural mentality.In short,the "White Horse Bodhisattva" is the transformation of the local community of the original memory of the transformation,distortion or even imagination,to adapt to the needs of reality,which is the identity and practicality of ethnic identity.
