As an important part of traditional ethnic culture, traditional festival ceremonies have the functions of inheriting traditional culture, strengthening ethnic identity, and condensing ethnic feelings. The common ancestor and ethnic group concept formed by collective memory is one of the important factors to strengthen ethnic identity, and it symbolizes the permanent continuity of ethnic group social structure. This article uses James Carrey's "spreading ritual view" theory to analyze how torch festival as a ethnic culture promotes cultural inheritance under the interaction of collective memory and ethnic identity. This article includes an introduction and three chapters:In the introductory part, first of all,I explained the origin of the research in this article;secondly,I conducted a literature review, sorted out the literature of minority culture, collective memory and ethnic identity, and the Yi Torch Festival;and again explained the research process and method and made a basic for Hezhang Torch Festival Overview; Finally, explain the theory of ritual view spread by Kerry and put forward the purpose and significance of the research. The first chapter,"The Presentation of the Torch Festival Ritual of the Yi People in Hezhang",focuses on three aspects;the symbolic representation in ritual communication, the cultural characteristics of symbols in the ceremonial communication, and the metaphor of life in the ceremonial symbol elements.Explain the representative symbols appearing in the rituals one by one, explore their ritual cultural characteristics, and comprehend their deep meaning in the spread of ritual culture. The second chapter studies the construction of collective memory of Torch Festival in Hezhang County, and discusses from the text of collective memory, the cultural representation of collective memory, and the inheritance of collective memory. As the framework of the collective memory of Hezhang Torch Festival, the two “text” torch festival “texts” have the characteristic of cultural representation of the coexistence ofsacred and secular, and promote the inheritance of Hezhang Torch Festival, but they can not ignore its cultural dissolution. The third chapter "Analysis of Collective Memory and Ethnic Identity under the Heritage of He Zhang's Torch Festival Ceremony" is the end of this article. It will start from the collective memory picture constructed at the three levels of individual / family, society and function, and explore the intersection of common collective memories. The ethnic identity relationship constructed in the framework.Collective memory embodies the deep value orientation and emotions of a group within a framework. The resulting group identity consciousness plays an important role in group cohesion and the continuation of intangible cultural heritage. Finally,by discussing the relationship between collective memory and ethnic identity,Hezhang Torch Festival is proposed as a platform for display,in which various ceremonial symbols form its memory "text",spreading the diverse culture and distinctive ethnic culture of the Yi people in Hezhang. It has promoted the exchange of ethnic groups and deepened the recognition among ethnic groups. At the same time,it is necessary to make full use of the mutual construction of collective memory and ethnic identity, but also to understand the ritual communication problems that follow.
