The Study Of Phonetics Of Pingyao Dialect

This dissertation is mainly based on the data collected from the author's filed investigation on Pingyao dialect and it also refers to the previous studies. It preliminary studies the geographical diversity and the geographical distribution of Pingyao dialect using geographical linguistics to select fourteen villages.This dissertation is divided into six chapters. Chapter 2-5 is the main part of this dissertation.Chapter 1, introduction. A brief introduction of geographical profile and historical evolution. Then it discusses the previous studies of Pingyao dialect. And it also introduces the purposes, the research methodology, the situation of distribution and informants.Chapter 2, the diversity of initial. A mainly introduction of initial's characters and geographical distribution, then it preliminary studies the exception.Chapter 3, the diversity of vowel. A mainly introduction of vowel's characters and geographical distribution, then it preliminary studies the exception.Chapter 4, the diversity of tone. A mainly introduction of tone's characters and geographical distribution, then it preliminary studies the exception.Chapter 5, the geographical classification of Pingyao dialect. It divides Pingyao dialect into three parts according to the characters of initial, vowel and tone.Chapter 6, the conclusion. This dissertation studies sounds of Pingyao dialect from the perspective of geographical linguistics. The sounds contain whole area of Pingyao.Then this dissertation divides Pingyao dialect into three parts: northwest, northeast and south.
