Taking the preposition of Hengyang dialect as the research object,this essay have compare Hengyang dialect prepositions a more comprehensive collection and collation,classify describe,and summarize it's characteristics to strive to Hengyang dialect prepositions achieve the full description.Fieldwork is the article main means to obtain language materials.Based on the outline of grammatical meaning,Hengyang dialect prepositions are classified and described.We combined with the scholars' points and divided the preposition into six categories: time prepositions(such as cong,zai,chenda,jiuda and so on),locative prepositions(such as cong,zou,dangda,dao and so on),object prepositions(such as de,lao,banda,aida and so on),reason and purpose prepositions(such as yin,yinweii,wei,weida and so on),manner prepositions(such as an,anda zhaoda,jiuda and so on),range oprepositions(such as chuda,paotuo and so on).Through a large number of sentences to detailed and described systematically the usage of each preposition,and then summarized the usage of Hengyang dialect distinctive prepositions.Prepositions usually come from the verb.Compared to Mandarin,Hengyang dialect prepositions is a higher grammaticalizational degree,such as zou,although it is still a verb in Mandarin,but already have grammaticalized from the verb to preposition in Hengyang dialect.Some of prepositions are existing in Hengyang dialect but unexist in Mandarin,such as de and lao.De can lead agent,recipient and tool.Lao can lead patient,tool and locative.De and Lao showed that the characteristics of Hengyang spoken language are lively.Some of prepositions are existing in Mandarin but unexist in Hengyang dialect,such as benzhe,yizhao and suizhe,these prepositions are generally used written language.In Hengyang dialect,da can be attached to the back of monosyllabic words,act as a two-syllable preposition affix.Da played a distincte role to monosyllabic preposition and corresponding two-syllable preposition in its grammar and semantics,such as wei and weida,dui and duida and so on.
