The Research On Creating Characteristics Of Xiang Xi Young Writers Group

After 1990 s,the development of Xiangxi literature has come to the third stage.A group of young writers who were born in 1960 s and 1970 s have taken the responsibility of Xiangxi cultural writing.They are strongly rising in the Hunan literary field.Some of them such as Yu Huaian,Tian Er,Peng Xueming,Huang Guangyao,Huang Qingsong,Long Ningying,Xiang Qijun,Xiang Yuan,Wu Guoen,Jiu Mei are influenced by the writing style of Shen Congwen and other senior writers.They are nourished by the regional cultural creation;adhere to the position of national cultural interpretation.They use rich and diverse creative ideas to their literary creation,animate the creation of Xiangxi literature,and raise the “third wave” of Xiangxi literary creation.This thesis investigates the works of the Xiangxi young writers group,summarizes the creating characteristics and the artistic viewpoints of the Xiangxi young writers group,and reconsiders the present situation of their literary creation,points out their limitations and significance.The first chapter summarizes the rising background and the general creating situation of the Xiangxi young writers group,defines the research objects and the range of the investigated texts.Xiangxi in this study refers to the jurisdiction of Tujia-Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Xiangxi.The Xiangxi young writers group refers to the local writers who were born between the years of 1960-1980 and grown up in Tujia-Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Xiangxi.The second chapter investigates the themes and connotation of the creation of the Xiangxi young writers group.One is that they passionately praise the local landscapes of Xiangxi through displaying the scenery of Xiangxi,pursuing human landscape and dynamically displaying the relationship between man and nature.They excavate the ethnic customs of Xiangxi,such as the custom of life ceremonial,custom of festivals,custom of material folk.What's more,this chapter presents the facts of the survival of Xiangxi,which includes depressed desolate texture of life,localism and spiritual returning home.The third chapter continuously investigates the artistic viewpoints and analyses the artistic characteristics of the Xiangxi young writers group.The contemporary literature of the twentieth century is popular and media oriented,Xiangxi young writers are self-examined in their artistic viewpoints and show their new characteristics in the narrative strategy,the plot patterns and the style of language.The conclusion goes a step further into the exploring of the meaning of the Xiangxi young writers' creation,summarizes their inheriting of the interpretation of national culture of the predecessors,and shows the rational thinking about the injection of the modern civilization into the Xiangxi local civilization.This chapter points out that under the current background,Xiangxi young writers and their works still have some limitations.
