A Report On “The Social Life Of Shanxi Described In Zhuzhici Poetry”

From the perspective of regional social history,Approaching Field and Society,written by Prof.Xing Long in Shanxi University,shows the world a detailed folk customs in Shanxi through combining theory with practice.The Chapter of “The Social Life of Shanxi Described in Zhuzhici Poetry” is chosen as the translation material.It represents the production and life of Shanxi people mainly by “Zhuzhici Poetry”.By analyzing the language features and resulting translation difficulties,this report attempts to offer some workable translation strategies for translation problems about Zhuzhici Poetry appeared in the material,so as to provide experience for people who will be engaged in the English translation of “Zhuzhici Poetry” in the future.The report is divided into five chapters.Chapter One introduces the C-E translation task;Chapter Two describes in detail the whole translation process including the preparation before the translation,the translation process and the proofreading after translation;Chapter Three examines the language feature and translation difficulty of “Zhuzhici Poetry”;Chapter Four,as the main body of the report,makes a case study,focusing on different strategies adopted in translating “Zhuzhici Poetry”in the translation material;Chapter Five concludes the translation practice and summarizes the author's findings as well as deficiencies in this translation practice.
