Research On Scholar Supporting Role In Scholar-beauty Romances Of Qing Dynasty

Stories of talented scholars and beauties of Qing dynasty is the object of this paper.Begin with the literature collecting,through a close reading of the text,settling the relevant materials;and then,classifying and concluding the relevant materials,searching the process of it,analyzing all aspects of the text emphatically.At last,using the traditional novel criticism theories and Vladimir propp's theory—the function in the behaviors to make a supplementary analysis.This paper consists of the introduction,five chapters of main texts and the conclusion.In the introduction part,retrospect and reflect the study history of the stories of talented scholars and beauties,points out that the previous contributions and the problems and unresolved issues existing in the current study,establish the research center of this paper.In the first chapter,make a clear definition to the scholar supporting role and define the range.And investigate the proportion of them,the existing frequency of them,the relationship with the leading role,etc.so that we can distinguish the scholar supporting roles from others.In the second chapter,classify and conclude large numbers of the scholar supporting roles,according to the main features they present,divide them into a few parts,such as the scholars,the high-headed men,the knights,and the hermits,and make a deeply research to the scholars and the knights.In the third chapter,based on the development of the Stories of talented scholars and beauties as well as the relevant political and cultural backgrounds,make a stage research to the scholar supporting roles,mainly include three times: initial of Qing dynasty to the period of Kangxi,the period of Yongzheng to Qianlong,the period of Jiaqing and after him.In the fourth chapter,depend on the critic to "All Men Are Brothers" of Jin sheng tan,and the critic to " Romantic Of The Three Kingdoms " of the father and son of Mao,and the critic to "The Golden Lotus " of Zhang zhu po some other important criticism theories in the Qing dynasty,to analyze the images and functions of the scholar supporting roles.The fifth chapter consists of two parts,the first part is a comprehensive function of a person analysis to the scholar supporting roles in the text,mainly from the following angles: firstly,the scholar supporting roles have a foil impact to the leading roles,,including positive foil,profile foil,and negative contrast and several other aspects;Secondly,the scholar supporting roles can add story lines and rich plot;Thirdly,the author's own aesthetic ideal can present through the scholar supporting roles;Fourth,add the author's ideal images of a person in his own heart.The second part is mainly on the basis of the Vladimir propp's theory—the function in the behaviors,make a systematic research,investigate the scholar supporting roles functions to build the plots and shape the characters.The conclusion summarizes the functions and meanings of the scholar supporting roles to a text.
