Translation Of Political Text Under The Guidance Of Translation Compensation Strategy

The translation project report is based on the translation material We the People(Chapter 9 and Chapter 10).The problems are put forward to in the translation of political text and the translation skills are applied to solve the corresponding problems under the guidance of translation compensation strategy,such as division,semantic extension and the adjustments of the order,and some conclusions are drawn from the translation practice.Because of the different expressions between Chinese and English caused by different cultures and thinking modes between China and Western countries,sometimes compensation means have to be used to make the target text faithful to the source text to the maximum and to reduce losses in the process of translation.Firstly,the translation project report illustrates the research achievements made by former scholars at home and abroad,including the definitions of translation compensation strategy,the principles of translation compensation strategy,as well as specific application translation skills.Secondly,based on the writer's problems in the translation of political material,the writer selects typical 10 examples from the translation practice to be analyzed deeply and discusses the practical application of translation compensation strategy.Through the study of the translation material We the People,the writer is trying to find out the translation strategy which is true of political texts and to explore some translation skills on the analysis of typical examples.And the translation project report is hoped to provide guidance for the translation of political texts so as to improve the translation quality of political texts.
