Siwa Culture is mainly distributed in the Tao River,Western Han River,Bailong River,Jing River,Wei River and other watershed.The graves with niche are available in Heshui nine station site,Lintan Mogou cemetery,Zhuanglang Xujianian cemetery,Minxian Zhanqi site,etc.The Heshui nine station site is the most concentrated.According to the differences of location and number of niches,the grave with niche can be divided into four kinds – single-headed niche tomb,single-legged tomb,one-sided niche tomb and double niche tomb,the number of single-headed niche tomb is the largest,other types are rare.Expect for the Zhuanglang Xujianian cemetery was used for placing and burying people,other sites,graves with niche are mostly used for placing funerary objects,in addition,it also can see some special situations like placing some part of cemetery owners in the niche.Basically,the pottery in the niche is placed upright,in general,the one in central has larger volume,and the one on both sides is smaller,the display of pottery has a big difference with the coffin chamber and tomb passage in the whole graveyard,but there is no significant difference between the two in the combination of implements,the placement of pottery in the niche is mainly considered for the rational use of the niche space.The appearance of niches is the combined action of internal and external factors,the internal factor is that the burial area is small,the used space is insufficient;the external factor is influenced by the grave niche like the Qijia Culture.The location of the niche is determined by its use,the location of grave niche in Heshui nine station site,Lintan Mogou cemetery and Minxian Zhanqi site is basically related to the position law of the burial funeral in the whole cemetery,the location of grave niche in Zhuanglang Xujianian cemetery is influenced by the position law of burying people in the whole cemetery.
