This translation report concerns the translation of Library of Souls: The Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,book three(excerpts),which is a children's fantasy novel by Ransom Riggs.As the sequel to Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,it continues with the adventure of Jacob in the time loop.This report will start from the perspectives of translating narrations relevant to shared experience,narrations relevant to foreign experience,and translating fantasy words to analyze how translator switch his role from visible to invisible and acting out subjectivity by applying the translation strategy of domestication and foreignization.During the translation of this novel,the author will pay close attention to the three narrations and finish the translation of the novel and the report.This report consists of four parts.The first part is task description,including a brief introduction to the book and the author.The second part is process description including pre-translation preparation,translation schedule,post-translation management and Chinse fantasy novel and three types of narration.The third part will apply domestication and foreignization to do case study.And the last part is conclusion.Through this project,on one hand,the author hopes to improve his translation skills,and learn more about literary text features and literary translation strategies.On the other,he wishes introduce some excellent foreign fantasy novels to enrich the garden of Chinese literatures and satisfy the mental needs of Chinese readers.
