This thesis is a practice report based on the author's interpretation of TEDX Xiguan 2016.With China's rapid economic and social progress,China-foreign relations are getting closer and simultaneous interpreting,a communication method letting both parties attending the conference to recognize what the other want to express in a short time, play a significant role in China-foreign relations. However, many difficulties may appear during the interpreting, since interpreters should handle high density information in a limited time, not to mention other kinds of pressure they should conquer.Among such difficulties, accents, high density information, terminologies and as well as parallel structures stand out to be most serious ones, which were also the most difficult problems the author faced in this interpreting practice.Given this, with the introduction and analysis of relevance theory relating to the interpretation practice, the author introduces some possible solutions in this thesis. In relevance theory, communication is an ostensive-inferential process. For speakers,in the ostensive process, they deliver their informative intention and communicative intention to the hearers. While for interpreters,in order to deliver quality interpretation, they should recognize and infer the speakers' communicative intention,or in other words, the real meaning behind the information to the audience. From this perspective,in the inferential process, interpreters should relate the speakers' newly-presented information to their best contextual assumption and thus generate a new contextual assumption.By doing so,they can use the least processing efforts to achieve the best contextual effect and thus reach the optimal relevance and deliver the speakers' communicative intention and accurate and smooth interpretation to the audience. In this respect, interpreters should solve the problems mentioned above by reaching the optimal relevance. The author thinks that in order to reach optimal relevance, interpreters can use normal simultaneous skills, which are anticipation, chunking, generalization and as well as reorganization. All those skills can help interpreters reduce their processing efforts, while at the same time, achieve the best contextual effect and thus reach optimal relevance.Last but not least,as is described in the theory chapter, interpreters should also expand their encyclopedia, improve language proficiency and as well as doing thorough pre-task preparation and bettering logic reasoning ability.By doing so,they can achieve optimal relevance and hence deliver quality interpretation to the audience.
