Vocabulary teaching plays a very important role in the research of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.It is widely recognized that vocabulary teaching should combine the culture teaching so that to construct the lexical cultural background and form the context for the Chinese language learners.In Chinese language,dietary vocabulary has rich connotation and extension,constitutes large party of the daily communication for the learners,especially when they are in China.In this thesis,it researches on dietary vocabulary in New HSK lexical syllabus,so extends to the metaphorical meaning and cultural connotation,and proposes teaching suggestions for both teachers and students.Mainly,in this thesis,we sort and select the dietary vocabulary in New HSK lexical syllabus,and analysis the examples both metaphorical meaning and cultural connotation.For the whole thesis,five parts included.First we explain the reasons why selected this topic,what is researched in this thesis and how to research,the related theories and corpus source.Second,we sort and select the dietary vocabulary in New HSK lexical syllabus,analyze the reason of the classification of the dietary vocabulary.Third,according to the classification of dietary words,the analysis would be on both metaphorical meaning and cultural connotation.Forth we propose teaching suggestions.And in the last part,we conclude a summary of the whole thesis.
