Influence Of Emotional Context With Different Valence On Facial Expression Recognition

As one external form of emotion,facial expressions provide important detail feature factors for the correct understanding of the psychological activities of others,so the correct recognition of facial expression has a important significance for social development of individual major.In addition to the demographic variables such as gender and age,the factors that affect the expression of facial expression also include the priming effect of the external emotional context.In this study,we explore the influence of different emotional context types on facial expression recognition from the perspective of emotional background.The empirical study selected positive and negative emotional words,the potency of temperature vocabulary,the emotional state induced by video as the emotional background material,and selected China facial emotion Gallery of positive and negative and neutral face picture recognition task as the subjects selected materials,selected undergraduate and graduate students as subjects,three experiments were designed to explore the effects of the emotional context valence to facial expression recognition.The results showed that:(1)in positive or negative emotional words start,participants have significant differences for different valence facial expression response(reaction time of positive face <neutral face <negative face);(2)in recognition of positive,negative and neutral face,the subjects in positive emotional words was faster in recognition of facial expressions in the negative emotional words.(3)in the warm or cold words under the start,participants have significant differences for different valence facial expression response(reaction time of positive face<neutral face <negative face);(4)in recognition of the positive face,the subjects in warm words was faster in recognition of facial expressions in the cold words;in recognition of neutral faces,the subjects in cold words was faster in recognition of facial expressions in warm words;in the recognition of negative faces when the temperature difference between different valence on vocabulary recognition of facialexpression is not significant.(5)in positive emotional state,the subjects had significant differences in different valence facial expression reaction(reaction time of positive face <negative face < neutral face);in negative emotional state,the subjects had significant differences in different valence facial expression response(reaction time of positive face <neutral face <negative face).(6)for the same valence facial expression,there is no significant difference in the effect of different valence emotional state on facial expression recognition.
