Research On Relationship Between Rearing Patterns Social Adaptation Consistency Of College Students

Parenting style of parents play a key role to the development of their children will of children.Parents are the first teachers of children and their every single word or action can affect children's development direction.Self consistency and congruence is an important factor that affect their own health development and a good family and school education can promote the harmonious development of a person.It can lay a solid foundation for them to enter the society in the future.Social adaptation is an important standard to measure whether a person can be accepted by society or not.Good social adaptation ability can realize the seamless connection of school and society.The paper discusses relationship among these three terms.Self consistency and congruence scale(SCCS)compiled by Wang Dengfeng,Simple-Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran-Chinese(S-EMBU-C)revised by Jiang Jiang et al and social adaptation ability diagnosis scale compiled by Zheng Richang are used as research tools.The results show that:First,the general parenting style of university students' parents is in a medium level;self consistency and congruence and social adaptation ability are higher than the medium level.Second,for gender factors,parents have more preference for girls in the process of parenting and the girls show stronger adaptation ability in the face of change.For grade factors,along with the age and experience accumulation,self consistency and congruence and social adaptation ability of individual will improve accordingly.For different origins of students,parents in the cities and towns have harsher parenting styles than that in countryside.Their children have more conflicts in process of growing up,but they have higher social adaptation ability.For numbers of children,mothers of only child have more attention and higher expectation.Third,there are pairwise interrelations among social adaptation,parenting styleand self consistency and congruence.In addition,the mediate function of self consistency and congruence between parenting style and social adaptation is significant.The degree of self consistency and congruence plays an important role in influence of parenting style on social adaptation.Results of the paper reflect the importance of parenting style.Parents should take into account children's psychological feelings when educate them.Only children with self consistency and congruence can better adapt to the requirement of social development.At the same time,it indicates that self consistency and congruence of students should be paid more attention in school education.Finally,based on the results of the study,educational suggestions are put forward:(1)pay attention to family education,improve the parent-child relationship;(2)learn to accept oneself,promote psychological harmony,objectively evaluate oneself,improve operation efficiency,experience self-control;(3)strengthen adaptation ability,promote the mental health.
