Research on self-handicapping began in the early 1990s,self-handicapping has many forms, such as procrastination before the coming of an achievement situation, lack of sleep, less likely to exercise. It also covers mental states such as anxiety, poor mood and fear. The self-handicapping theory mainly includes self-value theory and impression decoration theory. These theories believe that the self-handicapping behavior is based on the requirements of self-value maintenance and impression management, and there was a close relationship between parental rearing styles,self-worth and impression management. The existing researches indicate that the self-handicapping behavioral factors include parental rearing style and achievement goal orientation. And researches of the mental resilience system and its dynamic model show that family factors act as an important impact in the mental resilience model. At the same time, the dynamic model also proposed that family factors provide individuals psychological satisfaction, and promote the development of physical and mental health. In other words,a healthy mental state will reduce self-handicapping behavior.According to the above theory and related research, this study attempts to explore the relationship between parenting style, mental resilience, achievement goal orientation and self-handicapping behavior. As a special group, college students have experienced a change from high school to college life. They require a strong adaptability to deal with the changes in life and learning.Self-handicapping will seriously affect mental health and thus affect the students to better adapt to this transformation.Based on the previous studies, this study takes college Students as research objects and adopts the way of questionnaire survey, using tools such as Revision of short-form Egna Minnenav Barndoms Uppfostran(s-EMBU),CD-RISC,self-handicapping scale(SHS),achievement goal orientation scale. This study took the students of higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province as subjects, investigated the influence of parental rearing styles and resilience on self-handicapping,and explored the mediating effect of resilience on parental rearing patterns and self-handicapping,and examined the moderating effect of achievement goal orientation between resilience and self-handicapping.The research comes to the following conclusions:1.College students' parental rearing style has a significant impact on self-handicapping,and it can predict self-handicapping behavior.2.College students' parental rearing styles have a significant impact on resilience.3.Resilience plays a partial mediating role between college students' parental rearing patterns and self-handicapping.4.Achievement goal orientation plays a significant moderating role between resilience and self-handicapping.
