The Design And Exploration Of Ancient Village Culture Exhibition Space

With the development of modern tourism, leisure tour has been far from satisfying the growing demand of tourists culture and spirit need. "It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books." More and more people want to be exposed to diverse culture and achieve self-realization in the process of tourism. In this demand, the ancient villages and other destinations with cultural value have become popular choices for travel. The Chinese ancient villages tourism has been developed for thirty years, typical ancient villages such as Lijiang and Wuzhen were well known to the public. However, most of ancient villages are not being recognized. At the same time, driven by economic interests and a single, spontaneous, blind tourism development, so many ancient villages' tourism is overexploited and lack of cultural excavation, along with cultural similarity and even the phenomenon of cultural empty nest. In the process of development concerns are placed on how to get more economic benefits but not the site and form of culture representations. As a result, unique ancient villages that destroyed by poor business development, lost their core cultural values.This phenomenon has gradually caught the attention of experts and cultural preservation agencies, and need to seek a reasonable way to maintain the uniqueness of different cultures in the ancient villages and towns, and enhance the "readability" of varied cultures.The core of exhibition design is to transmit information. As an important tool of cultural transmission and education, it is playing an increasingly vital role in today's life with an ever increased emphasis on cultural and spiritual abundance. The author of this paper hopes to get involved in ancient villages' culture protection and "readability" development activities from the perspective of cultural show, and enable tourists to“read” and appreciate unique cultures of ancient villages by give full play to the advantages of diverse display means.The key of the topic is to apply the above-mentioned concepts to the design of Huishan's cultural representation through scientific studies and research methods, and to explore the processes, methods and ideas and etc. of ancient town culture exhibitiondesign. The author conducted a field research and questionnaire survey for the current situation of Huishan, did a detailed interpretation of the Huishan culture, analyzed and summarized the status quo of local cultural exhibition, studied attributes and interests of tourist, and finally applied the research findings to the design of cultural exhibition that based on the Huishan case study.
