Recognition,the concept embedded in the background of cultural diversity and the values conflict,has become the one of this time subjects.In a sense,the interpersonal relationship is split in modern society.It is a problem to be solved to make all the people in harmony with each other in the community.The author studied recognition on ethical dimension in order to find the ways to solve the above problems and attempted to clarify the concept of recognition which has been disputed in academic circles.This thesis can be divided into the following Parts.Part one:Recognition as an ethical concept.This is the most important part which mainly introduces the concept of recognition on ethical dimension.First of all,the author studied the concept of identification and then found its theoretical flaws,thus introduces the concept of recognition,which emphasizes differences,pointing out the necessary trend from identification to recognition.And then,through the analysis of the development of the concept of recognition,this thesis showed the studies of it by past philosophers.As this concept still lacks a conclusive ethical definition,this thesis tried to clarify its semantic as well as ethical meaning and reveal its essential connotation.Part two:Recognition as an ethical norm.This part discusses the details of Recognition.In the light of Honneth's Theory of Recognition,the author defined recognition as an ethical norm which was consisted of love,legal rights and unity.Then the author introduced each form and its intrinsic requirements.Part three: Recognition as an ethic pattern.An ethic pattern refers to the model which can be applied in the real world.This part focused on theories of Alexandre Kojčve's "A universal and homogeneous state",Francis Fukuyama's "The end of history" and Taylor's politics of recognition.Moreover,the practical values of the study of recognition for today's social development were pointed out,which were the promotion of the development of self-recognition,the realization of human equality,as well as the construction of the harmonious society.
