In the year of 1949,the government of Kuo Min Tang had retreated to Taiwan with nearly 2 million people coming along.Due to the fundamental structural change in such a short time of Taiwan population,plus the rigid and strict manipulation of ideology imposed by Kuo Min Tang,1950 s has become a critical turning point of Taiwan history.Among the people who went to Taiwan at that time,many have made a figure in the literary world in China mainland,or have already had the editing experience in journals and newspapers.While some others,women in particular,had started to write for a living after moved to Taiwan.These women writers,had gradually formed a women writing group that is not to be ignored.In this paper,a major attention is given to comb the spiritual contents of feminine view of the first generation of the women writers who were migrated to Taiwan,and the relationship between these women writers and both the origin of Wusi(May 4th)thoughts and their life experience in Taiwan is discussed too.A forming mechanism and specific contents of their feminine views is to be revealed by analyzing the way of utterance and contents in their literary works.Besides,a comparison of spatial difference on feminine views between China mainland and Taiwan will be conducted and the modern meaning of feminine views in Taiwan will be analyzed in detail as well.There are two major parts in Introduction.The first part is a brief state of the current situation of relevant research on this topic,clarifying the research idea and key points.The second part is the definition and interpretation of the connotation of the Feminine Views in this paper.In Chapter One,a historical context will be re-established and the historical opportunity for women writers who had moved to Taiwan and then started their writing will be analyzed from three aspects,which are the historical evolution of Taiwan literature,the literary policy in Taiwan in 1950 s,and the tough surroundings of the women writers’ real life.Particularly,the selection of feminine theme in their writing,and the in inner and outer reasons of the gradual establishment of feminine views are to be analyzed;the impact of complex cultural factors and real life experience to the literary writing of women writers who moved to Taiwan,especially the first forming of their feminine views,are to be revealed in this chapter too.In Chapter Two,a philological method is adopted.Two representative journals,Women and Family Weekly and Central Supplement,are chosen,so that the original thoughts and evolvement of idea on the issue of women could be clarified from the primary sources.Then the uniqueness of the feminine views of the women writers who moved to Taiwan,notably the patrilineal relationship ofWusi(May 4th)women emancipation thoughts and the continuous readjustment based on real life surroundings,have thus been studied.It is clear that an aggregation of the fierce discussion based on newspapers and the space of a rudimentary public opinion has not only provided the women writers with a basis of interpersonal connections,but laid a foundation of a discourse platform for the forming of their feminine views.Besides,the extensive social interaction produced by media effect has also enhanced their influence in the clip of the main stream literature and art.In Chapter Three,the literary work of three most representative women writers in 50 s and 60 s,namely Bingying Xie,Haiyin Lin and Zhongpei Xu,will be analyzed in details,so that the literary interpretation and connotation expansion of feminine view of the women writers who moved to Taiwan could be further analyzed from more aspects including plots of their works,characters,selection of way of narration,and techniques of presenting the theme.A comprehensive thinking of Female self in specific time and space could then be witnessed through the literary structure and artistic imagination of sexuality,love and marriage,and career established by the women writers.In Chapter Four,the separating and merging path of the feminine view in China mainland and Taiwan,from Wusi(May 4th,1919)to 50 s and 60 s,is reviewed.The difference in feminine view between China mainland and Taiwan and different styles in different political and cultural context will be presented.Based on the heritage of the freedom thought from Wusi(May 4th)ideology,and in addition of the revision to the tradition caused real life experience,feminine views in Taiwan showed a tendency of a philosophy of devoted wife and good mother.While in China mainland,along with the waves of revolution and construction,as well as a highly systematical life style,a feminine view of pursuing social equality and desexuation has been established.From the diverging of the feminine views in China mainland and Taiwan,different scenes of Wusi(May 4th)ideology caused by different historical development can be seen,and the modern ideological meaning of Feminine Views in Taiwan can be reflected as well.The polygon mirror of feminine view and literature represents the complex entanglement of various pairs of issues,including ideological enlightenment and ethic revolution in modern China,social revolution and emancipation of humanity,and political rights and genders. |
