With the increasingly frequent scientific exchanges and the intense competition in science and technology, academic discourse plays an important role in the development of science and technology, meanwhile, the importance of mechanical English translation has become increasingly prominent. The translation of academic texts requires faithful expression of the original message, and it should conform to the language norms of the field.I choose Professor Albert C.J.Luo's Multiple bifurcation trees of period-1 motions to chaos in a periodically forced,time-delayed,hardening Duffing oscillator as my source text in translation practice, and I finish the report based on it.The translation report is divided into four parts. The first chapter is an overall description of the translation task, including the selection of the original text, translation requirements, objectives and significance,a brief introduction of the present situation and the existing problems. The second chapter is the task process, mainly related to the relevant information, texts, reference books, and the analysis of the original text, the recording of how the translation process is carried out.The third chapter is the focus of this translation report.First of all,I introduce the translation theory used in translation, then introduce the text typology and related knowledge. Finally,I explain the vocabulary, grammar, logical relations and scientific content by examples,as well as the translation methods in the task. The fourth chapter is the conclusion of the translation report.
