The Application Of Leaner Autonomy To The English Writing Classes

As the development of cognitive learning theory,learner autonomy becomes the popular learning theory among the field of the second language acquisition.It uses a whole new way to interpret the education and teaching in English.It is necessary to develop the consciousness,habit and ability of learner autonomy.The way students acquire knowledge is no longer confined to classrooms and books.Instead,the sharing of network resources gives learners more opportunities to choose their own learning and they are active on the web platform to get what they want.English writing ability is one of the important indicators to measure English language practical ability.At present,the English teaching in our country is confronted with the double pressure of having fewer teachers and lower writing ability of students.Writing is a subject that requires more interaction between teachers and students.However it is difficult to have interaction for there are so many students in the classroom in college.Based on the study of learner autonomy at home and abroad,the application of learner autonomy to English writing classroom in college is carried out in order to explore the following two research questions:1.What effects does learner autonomy classroom have on students' initiative of learning?2.What effects does learner autonomy classroom have on students' learning effect?It is concluded that learner autonomy classroom can improve the initiative of learning in terms of learning attitude,learning plan,learning method,learning environment and self-evaluation and adjustment.And also,the learner autonomy classroom can enhance the learning effect in terms of grades.
