The Syntactic And Characteristic Study Of Chinese Sentence Final Particle "ma"(?)

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the typical modern Chinese sentence-final particle “Ma” based on the theory of semantic grammar.By means of the corpus of Center for Chinese Linguistics PKU,the author summarizes previous studies combining with different means of verification such as Accentuation,Displacement Method and Interpolation and try to deeply analyze the distribution rules of sentence-final particle “Ma” in yes-no question.According to it,we can define question' property and suspicion degree of yes-no question “Ma” to explore the question focus and the focus' sequence in yes-no question with “Ma”.Firstly,from the point of literature review,analyze and review related research achievements about the sentence-final particle “Ma” by the predecessors who have worked in the Grammar academic circle.The existing problems and solutions to the theory are pointed out in this thesis.Secondly,from the point of syntax distribution,accurately position the relation of selectional-restriction between the sentence-final particle “Ma” and Predicate verb,Predicate-Complement structure,Auxiliary verbs,Negative adverb,Modal adverb or Interrogative pronoun and then accordingly to find the regularities of distribution of “Ma” in yes-no question.Thirdly,based on the distribution rules of sentence-final particle “Ma”,combine response mechanism to extract,explain and verify focal element and focus' type and sequence that according to focus ' strength or weakness in yes-no question “Ma”.Finally,on the basis of focus' type and arrangement rule,define question' property from the two-pole of “Ma”,and verify sentences with “ma” that have a cognitive status of “all doubt without believe”.
