Japanese pirates' invasion occurred in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasty and it wasn't put down until the late Ming Dynasty,which has a profound impact on Chinese history.Especially in the field of Chinese history,the rise of Japanese pirate novel was a big hit at that time.To the Qing Dynasty,although there was no Japanese pirates' invasion,this kind of novel was still flourishing,becoming an indispensable novel type in the history of Qing Dynasty novels.The so called Japanese pirate novels in Qing Dynasty referred to those novels created,published and released during early Qing Dynasty to the third year of Qing Xuantong,the content and subject of which concerned with Japanese pirates' invasion.Generally speaking,the content of these novels was always about the invasive problems brought by Japanese pirates.Though there were other novel types at that time whose content had nothing to do with Japanese pirates' invasion,this theme still played an important role in promoting the development of story plots and the shape of the characters.And these novels are known as Japanese pirates' invasion novel in Qing Dynasty.It is worth mentioning that in order to clearly and coherently analyze and summarize the characteristics of those novels in Qing Dynasty,the novels which showed the situation of Japanese pirates' invasion during Sino-Japanese war with the key words of "Japanese pirates" or "pirates" referring to "Japan" belonged to those Japanese pirates' novels in Qing Dynasty.Japanese pirates' novels in Qing Dynasty has various types,which can classified from the perspective of stylistic,the subject matter and the creative styles.In addition to its rich content,it was also reflected in its fresh and vivid characters.This paper mainly analyzes the characters of the Japanese pirates' invasion novels in Qing Dynasty from the perspectives of the anti-Japanese generals,the anti-Japanese women,the anti-Japanese hero and the Japanese pirates.Bounded with the sino-Japanese war,The Japanese pirates' novels in Qing Dynasty is divided into two periods.The novels between the two periods had visible difference about artistic characteristics.Before the sino-Japanese war,this paper explored three typical characteristics of the skillful "sealed book" narrative techniques,"entertainment" creative tendencies and prominent novel confluence in Japanese pirates' invasion theme novels of Qing Dynasty.After the sino-Japanese war,this paper explored two typical characteristics of artful fantasy writing ways and strong record.Finally,explaining the existing limitations to the Japanese pirates' invasion novels of Qing Dynasty briefly.
