Study Seal Character On “retro” Style In Qing Dynasty

The seal character researches of retro style in Qing Dynasty has a profound influence,this kind of phenomenon has changed No-One-Caring since the Tang and Song Dynasties, itleads to restore ancient ways and innovation of ancient inscriptions which makes it possible toform the trend of diversification,and it create a new pattern of traditional Chinese calligraphy.This paper uses documents researches, with the methods of objective material as thebasis, and studies the seal character of retro style in Qing Dynasty in-depth. The first partdiscusses the development of the seal character including initial, middle and late QingDynasty,analyzes a few of the Qing Dynasty seal calligraphists’ works, reflects the sealcharacter from the Qing Dynasty with less attention to more prosperity. The second part sortsout the important calligraphers and their changing styles with four aspects includinginheritance, innovation,and academic penetration in the Qing Dynasty retro,and from restoreancient ways to the new one.And it reveals the inner rules of the Qing Dynasty retro sealthrough the system arrangement with the micro and macro generalizations. The third partuses arrangement, analysis and induction methods as the basis of the objective materials, andanalyses the reasons of seal character retro aesthetics in the special historical period in theQing Dynasty,which is based on academic thought transformation, textology,characterprosperity, and the art of sculpture with writing tools.The fourth part summarizes thesignificance and influence of the seal character retro in Qing Dynasty. The prosperity of QingDynasty retro seal has a great impact on seal sculpture. In addition, the Qing Dynastymonument calligraphy is also guided by the seal. Since people in the Qing Dynastyemphasized on return and recognition, it influenced the seal is to change the structure of notfocusing on Liu Shu, which separated from the mainstream,and it expanded a new way torespecting the old and advocating the monuments.
