Cooperation & Searle’s Theory Of Collective Intentionality

Most of human behavior is not a single individual behavior,from the recognition of the monetary system to company establishment,we are always in a cooperation with others.Cooperative action is a behavior of more than one person,how to carry out this intention of cooperative action is an important topic of philosophy.There have been two main points of view: one advocates that this is based on individual intentionality.Basically,traditional philosophy holds this view.The other is the idea of the collective intention Action to explain.This paper explores the collective intention of real cooperation,cooperation of "coincidence" and game based on the theory of collective intention of Searle.Specifically,the article mainly consists of two parts.The first part mainly discusses the relationship between consciousness and intention,the theory of intention and action,and the concept of collective intention.Intentional expression is the nature of the mind pointing to the external environment.Intentionality is usually based on consciousness,through the relevant events work,with some sense of the directivity.Intention,desire and so are one of the forms of intent,and the intention is related to the action of a psychological tendency.For the individual,all intentions can be expressed as "I intend XXX","I want XXX" and other forms.For the collective,the intentionality contains the form of "we intend XXX","we want XXX".Searle’s theory of collective intention is a good theoretical explanation of this cooperative action.In the book of "The Construction of Social Reality",Searle takes the "collective intentionality" with the "function giving" and "constitutive rules" as the three main elements of social reality construction.The second part of the article mainly discusses the concept of cooperative action,real cooperation,coincidence cooperation,game in the collective intention of the problem.A cooperative action is based on a prior recognition and a clear intention,with a certain collective goal,in the form of "we want to do..." collective behavior.For this kind of cooperation,the author respectively discusses the individual intention and the collective intention to explain the problem.In addition,it explores the collective intentionality problem for some even co-operative cooperation with others as a cooperative act or in the case of their own mistakes or even their own complete sense of confusion,and the collective intentionality in the game.At the end of the paper,the relationship between cooperation and collective intention is demonstrated and the structure and conditions of cooperation are discussed.
