This thesis consists of three parts, namely, the source text of Culturally Responsive Experimental Intervention Studies: The Development of a Rubric for Paradigm Expansion, the Chinese version translated by the author and a report on the translation. The aim of the source text is to address enduring disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes that youth from nondominant cultural and linguistic backgrounds experience in schools by presenting a culturally responsive research rubric for experimental intervention studies and applying the rubric to special education. The Chinese version is expected to provide domestic education researchers with some latest research findings and promote the educational outcomes for youth from different backgrounds. The translation report introduces the source and the authors of the original text and the translation motivation and analyzes its language features. Then it proceeds to how the translator applies the Communicative Translation Theory to her translation, with emphasis laid on her approaches to conveying cultural elements, ensuring the literary grace of her version and reorganizing sentence structures. And her reflections on translation are summed up.
