Mongolian Yurt has been the residence for the Mongolians to shelter from both hot and cold weather for thousands of years.As an important part of the nomadic culture,Mongolian yurt culture is also the significant part of the Mongolian culture,signifying the typical Mongolian characteristic.To make the yurts more beautiful,the Mongolians often use a variety of Mongolian folk pattern for the decoration of the yurts.Since the traditional Mongolian folk pattern is one of the important elements in the Mongolian culture,it is rich in content,with a wide range of subjects and distinctive ethnic characteristics.The thesis consists of five chapters,including introduction,conclusion,annotation,reference and main body.Meanwhile,the main body is written from three aspects.The introduction mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the topic,the research status of the topic and the research method used in the thesis.The main body includes the following three parts.To begin with,the paper gives an account of the concept as well as the origin of the Mongolian folk pattern.Then,the paper classifies the Mongolian folk pattern according to the features and usage.The second part particularly illustrates the structure of Mongolian yurts and their inner decoration and furnishment,listing the Mongolian pattern on them at the same time.In the third part,the author studies the symbolic meaning of the Mongolian folk pattern painted on the yurts from nine perspectives through combining with the results of field research.The conclusion sums up the thesis by summarizing the origin,classification and the usage of the Mongolian folk pattern.Meanwhile,the author puts forward her own opinion on the symbolic meaning of the Mongolian folk pattern,attaching the annotation,reference and appendix at the end of the thesis.
