Areport On The Translation Of The Chapter 19^th To 21^st Of The Strategic Assessment

The translation resources are derived from the political journal article called STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT in this translation report.The translation resources are political journal.And this translation report has been done based on this translation practice.With the rise of China's great power,China is going to participate in dealing with worldwide affairs positively.Therefore,it makes this kind of translated text sensible and there is a demand from the market for this kind of translated text.The translation practice is instructed on the functional equivalent theory.Meanwhile,there are many translation methods and techniques advising this translation practice.And the specific translation methods and techniques are mainly classified as three aspects,namely word translation,syntactic translation and paragraph translation.There are five techniques in aspect of word translation including the translation of expression form change,word conversion,abstract and word-reducing and equivalent.There are three kinds of methods in aspect of syntactic translation including the translation of changing word-order,breaking the sentence and shifting voice.Paragraph translation uses the techniques of cohesion and coherence in discourse analysis.All translation theories and methods are aiming at dealing with those difficult translation problems of the same translated texts.It also provides a good reference value for the same types of translated texts.The purpose of this translation report is to provide effective methods and a good sample in terms of translation.This paper consists of six parts.The first chapter is about the origin of translation which summarizes the three translated texts and background of Strategic Assessment.The second chapter is about the description of assignment being divided into three major parts.The first part is about author introduction,second and third part are about translated texts summary and translation difficulties.The third chapter is about the process of translation including warm-up before translation and translation and text checking.The fourth chapter studies about the concept and principle of Functional Equivalent Theory and how to translate political journals under the instruction of this theory.The fifth chapter describes about the analysis of translation practice cases.The sixth chapter is about the summary and enlightenment of this translation practice.
