The National Integration Of Liao Dynasty And Impact

By the end of Tang Dynasty,Chinese history entered into an epoch of a great breaking-up and turbulence,during which a multi-ethnic regime including the Five Dynasties,Liao Dynasty,Song Dynasty,the Western Xia Regime and Jin Dynasty was at a stalemate.This was also a significant period for national integration in Chinese history as well as an important part of the multivariate integration process for Chinese nation.Liao Dynasty,which was set up by Qidan Nationality was one of the most crucial dynasties during this stage.This thesis,from the perspective of national integration,analyzes the influences of Liao Dynasty in the course of Chinese history and the multivariate integration tendency of that period.This paper discusses the national integration during Liao Dynasty mainly from three aspects,i.e.the social background of the integration,the manifestations of the integration and the influences of the integration.The major contents are as follow.Chapter one is about the social background of the national integration in Liao Dynasty.Firstly,it states about the foundation of Liao Dynasty and its external expansion policy.Secondly,it talks about the migration and cohabitation of the various nationalities during that time.First chapter Liao through foreign in unifying in the northern frontier,and south central plains,territory area is expanding,growing number of national,Qidan rulers to facilitate rule,the implementation of the immigration policy,Chinese south and north grasslands changed the distribution pattern of nations,mixed with various nationalities,accelerate the process of the integration.Chapter two focuses on the main manifestations of the national integration in Liao Dynasty.Liao all nationalities,under the rule by migrating south to the north,to break the geographical boundaries,especially in the central plains Han north,into the prairie areas,has brought the advanced mode of production and production technology,grassland nomadic south has injected new vitality for development of the farming area,interactions between the nation,especially in the aspects of political,economic and cultural exchanges,promoted the evolvement in political system,production mode,life style and concept,and many other aspects of the change.Chapter three presents the influences of the national integration in Liao Dynasty.It mainly analyzes the social influences of the national integration to Liao Dynasty and the multivariate integration tendency embodying in this course.The Liao dynasty was integrated with the people and made the level of civilization greatly improved.However,in the process of ethnic integration,the Liao rulers of the Liao dynasty had been overzealous in the process of national integration,and the result was that the traditional ethnic traditions of good riding and martial arts were fading.With the integration of the Liao dynasty,the Liao rulers began to live in "China".By the end of Liao,ruler,not content with evolvement claim to be "China",with the northern song dynasty for legitimacy,and began to usurp the role of Chinese orthodoxy,which fully embodies the development trend of diversity in the integration of the Chinese nation's history.
