The Research Of Chinese Photographic Prose Since 1990

Since the concept of photographic literature was first proposed in 1990 by Cheng Dongfang,photographic literature has not been achieve rapid development as many scholars have predicted,only photographic prose has become the most popular photographic literature in our daily life.However, photographic prose still in an embarrassing situation that welcomed by the market but not well known. Not only its own concept is difficult to define, the academic community for its research is also very little in recent years. In addition, contemporary photography history is not left a place for it. Based on the above phenomenon and the help of related disciplines such as photography aesthetics, literature, art, this paper take Chinese photographic prose after 1990 as research object, to sort out the development process of Chinese photographic prose and classify some of the photographic prose. Then from the three aspects of external form, internal theme and the reader's perspective, to focuses on the analysis of the aesthetic characteristics of the photographic prose and find its limitations and shortcomings. Finally, hope that in this process we can re-explore the reason why the photographic prose welcomed by creators and readers but not well known, and discuss photography prose and even the future development of photographic literature.
