The Study On Contemporary Practice Of Alternative Photographic Processes In China

When observing on the contemporary practice of alternative photographic processes in China, the author found that they were named"historical/classical processes"in Chinese, while it was called"alternative processes"in English. The two different phrases resulted in the difference of the thoughts between Chinese and English. In the second part, the author listed the attitudes toward the validity of contemporary practice on alternative photographic processes, and then gave a re-scan on the works made by manipulative photographic techniques, which was ignored by the mainstream of the photographic history. On the base of it, the author tried to found out the philosophical resource for the practice on alternative processes nowadays. At last the author listed some case of contemporary art activity utilizing alternative processes, then gave a thougth on the possibility of making contemporary art, and how it should be.
