In modern Chinese, the study of adverbs has always been the focus of academic attention. In recent years, the topic of "subjective quantity" is more and more notable by many scholars. But the combination of the adverbs and subjective quantity, that is,the "subjective quantity of the adverb" is still a relatively weak part of the grammar community. The article starts from the specific meaning of the words and selects the verbs and the adverbs which mean "close to".Then we will examine the situation of subjective quantity for these words. It mainly includes three aspects.First, the identification and classification of the words which mean "close to" in this paper.Second, the paper focuses on the proof of the subjective quantity of the words which mean "close to".Then it describes the syntactic forms and semantic categories of these words.Third, this paper studies on the co-occurrence relationships of these words with the other words which can express the subjective quantity. The full text is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is introduction. It introduces the research object, the research content and the significance of this article. Then it combs the research result of the predecessors and points out the research method and the source of the corpora. The second chapter focuses on the theoretical basis of this paper, including the related theory of subjective quantity and the determination of the words which mean "close to".The first section mainly introduces the definition and classification of the subjective quantity. Then it describes the proof of the subjective quantity and the means of expression. The second section mainly explains the words which mean "close to" but which are not subjective. They are excluded from the scope of the study. Then we determine the scope of the words which mean "close to" in this paper. The third chapter to the fifth chapter examine the subjective quantities of "near" class words,"about" class words and "almost" class words respectively.First,we use formal proof methods to determine whether it expresses the subjective quantity and which kind of the subjective quantity it can express. Then,in the case of the subjective quantity,we will examine the syntactic forms and semantic categories of them. Finally,we summarize the content of each chapter. In this part,we make the form which can express the similarities and the differences of the same type of words in terms of syntactic forms and semantic categories. The sixth chapter examines co-occurrence relationships of these words with the other words which can express the subjective quantity.By examining the co-occurrence relationships with the adverbs and the modal particles at the end of sentence,we get style colour of each kind of the words which mean "close to".This paper studies the words which mean "close to" from a new perspective. It is helpful to deepen the study of Chinese adverbs. The study of these words provides more examples for theory of the subjective quantity in Chinese. It is beneficial to the further enrichment and perfection of the theory of subjective quantity. At the same time,it is helpful to teach Chinese vocabulary and teach Chinese as a foreign language.
