A Study On Ethical Dilemma Of Social Work

Social work is a professional activity that takes altruism as the core and makes use of scientific theories and methods.From the birth and development of social work can be seen,social work has gradually become an important channel to solve social problems and promote social justice.Social workers as the main body of social work and practitioners,often faced with several moral criteria or obligations required to make a choice,and social workers can only choose one,it will inevitably fall into an ethical dilemma.To deal with the ethical dilemma is not only the practical needs of the practitioners to reduce the moral pressure,but also the social work ethics as a typical occupation of the application of ethical research demands.The main types of social work ethic dilemma are manifested in the three aspects of normative conflict,conflict of roles and conflicts of interests in the course of practice.Specifically,it can be divided into normative conflicts caused by the relationship between value neutrality and value,confidentiality and privacy,the owner’s self-determination,the differences between Chinese and western cultures,and the role conflict caused by intervention method and “double relationship”,conflicts of interest due to “loyalty to who” and limited resource allocation.There are many causes of the ethical dilemma of social work,among which the conflict caused by multiple values is the root cause,the professional characteristics of strong ethics are also the risk of the dilemma,and the complexity of the service process becomes its realistic incentive.According to the analysis,the strategy of coping with the ethical dilemma includes three social action subjects,playing the key role of social work subject,playing the norms and security role of social work management and service department,playing the basic role of social work ethics education and research.
