A Practice Report On The Consecutive Interpreting Of The VSG Function Specification Between Indian And Chinese Engineers

This practice report is based on a working discussion the interpreter participated on January 16 th,2017.It is about the VSG(Vehicle Sound Generator)Function Specification compiled by Chinese Engineer Yu Xiang,reviewed by Indian expert Sricanthan.T.In the report there are 5 chapters,which are: Task Description,Process Description,Preparation of Interpretation,Case Analysis and Summary.The first and second chapters are about the source,requirement and process of interpretation practice as well as some reviews.The third chapter mentions some preparations about background knowledge,terminology,logical relations and Function Specification documents of different versions.The forth chapter focuses on the interpreting process.There are four types of deficiency mentioned in this section that the interpreter should overcome,which are lack of fluency,improper interpreting rhythm,wrong interpretation and missing interpretation,unfamiliarity with Indian English accent.After the examination of the deficiencies,improvement methods are listed together with and some difficulties hindering interpretation in interpreter's daily work.The final chapter summarizes the report in case to avoid the mistakes made in this practice,such as accumulation of technological knowledge,familiarity to the Indian English accent,following interpretation rules,building interpretation habits and knowing the standard expression for some certain situations.
