As the main basis of teachers’ teaching activities and students’ learning activities,teaching materials determine the general framework of teaching activities.The emergence of the Chinese textbooks and Chinese language textbooks(Burma Edition)for primary Chinese textbooks of Burma is a progress in the Chinese language education of Burma,which plays a vital role in the teaching of Chinese language of Burma.Through the method of classroom observation,statistical analysis and interview,this paper makes a study of seventh to twelfth volumes of Chinese textbooks and Chinese language textbooks and tries to analyze the reasonable and inadequacies of this set of textbooks and put forward extended suggestions.The first chapter is about the reasons,contents,purposes and methods,as well as related explanations.The second chapter is the literature review,which mainly sets forth the principles of textbook compilation and evaluation theory,the overseas Chinese textbooks,the current situation of Burma Chinese language education and teaching materials.In the third chapter,the text from seventh to twelfth of Chinese text book is summarized and analyzed,and the text,vocabulary,sentence pattern and after class practice are counted and analyzed.The fourth chapter makes statistics and analysis of the questions,types and contents of exercises in the Chinese language textbook.The fifth chapter summarizes the problems related to the text,vocabulary,sentence pattern and practice content in the Chinese textbook and the Chinese language textbook and puts forward the improvement suggestions including the compilation of Chinese textbooks,the localization of the teaching materials,the strengthening of systematic and scientific,the attention to the listening and speaking skills in the compilation and achieving modernization of Chinese teaching materials.Based on the principle of textbook compilation and the theory of teaching material evaluation,this paper studies the Chinese textbook and the Chinese language textbook and puts forward the extension suggestions according to the problems in the textbook.
