| The purpose of this paper is to introduce Brian Skyrms and his philosophy to Chinese scholars.Skyrms is one of the today’s most famous philosophers with a unique thinking about philosophy,but a stranger to Chinese.Skyrm’s philosophy research has an important turning point at the 1990 s,and his research objects and research methods changed a lot before and after that.Skyrms has been a leader for many decades in the epistemological side of philosophy of science,and is a particularly central figure in debates about induction,Bayesianism,and subjective probability.More recently Skyrms has done ground-breaking work on evolutionary models of social behavior,especially cooperative and communicative behaviors.The research of this paper on Skyrms has divided into two parts of theory analysis and method analysis.The first part has introduced his important theories before and after the turning point,and has mainly introduced and comment on two theories after the turning point-the Evolutionary Theory of Social Contract and Signal Theory,and also make an analysis on the differences and relations of the two stages.Skyrms has used mathematical modeling and computer-aided calculation to complete his philosophy experiment,different with traditional philosophy research.In the second part I have made an analysis on this point and discussion on its advantages and disadvantages. |
