Objective: The English translation of TCM terms is the focus of the contrastive study of English versions of Huangdi Neijing, and it is also an important part of theoretical research of English translation of TCM.Based on English translations of TCM terms in the two English versions of Huangdi Neijing, contrasting the consistency of the core morphemes and the rationality of the concepts of them, this study explores the two translators' differences between English translations of TCM terms, and the influence factors that cause them different translations.Hopefully, this study could provide a new method for the contrastive study of the English versions of Huangdi Neijing, and provide some references for the translation of TCM classics. Methods: Referring to TCM terms in "WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the West Pacific Region" and "International Standard ChineseEnglish Basic Nomenclature of Chinese Medicine",the English translations of TCM terms were extracted and classified in the Li Zhaoguo's and Ilza Veith's English versions of Huangdi Neijing according to established rules. And using Microsoft Excel software, the contrast corpus was established with 480 TCM terms; Then contrasting the consistency of the core morphemes and the rationality of the concepts of them, the two translators' differences between English translations of TCM terms, and the influence factors that cause them different translations were explored. Conclusion: 1.About the English translation of core morphemes of TCM terms,Li's translation methods is mostly consistent with the translation methods of international standards, accounting for 66.88%.The rest is translated according to his translation principles and translation methods, with different forms of translation in contrast to international standards' but reasonable meaning. And almost all of his translations are correct.2.Veith's translation methods is only 27.92% consistent with them of international standards, and the reason is that,at the exploratory stage of the English translation of TCM,limited by the translation conditions at that time, her translation methods are various and part of the non-uniform.And because of the lack of TCM knowledge and other's,there have been a lot of translation errors, accounting for 36.46%.3.The influence factors that cause the translators different translation methods of core morphemes of TCM terms, are divided into two parts: the translator self reasons and the external influences. The translator self factors include the linguistic knowledge,TCM knowledge, translatology knowledge and terminology knowledge, that the translator himself needs to master; The external factors include the version of translated book, translation reference books and other auxiliary materials, and publishing requirements.4.Comparing to the international standards of English translation of TCM terms,to translate TCM terms in Huangdi Neijing, could improve the accuracy and acceptability of the translation. And for adapting to the context of the terms, the form or structure of the English terms of TCM in international standards could be changed according to some translation principles and translation methods,to improve the readability of the translation.
