Nowadays, the construction of China's national defense has put forward new requirements for the development of diving industry.Learning from the U.S.Navy about the advanced experience and research results will play a great role in promoting China's diving development. Thus, there has been an increasing domestic demand for the diving materials, which has brought about great challenge to the translation of English of science and technology in diving field into Chinese.Since the existence of the huge differences in semantic forms and sentence structures between English and Chinese,it is necessary to reconstruct semantic meaning and follow practical translation methods during the translation of English into Chinese,so as to make the translation easy to understand. Therefore, based on these facts, this report first explains the cognitive process of translation by using the ostensive-inferential communicating process from the perspective of the relevance theory, and then analyzes the necessities of semantic reconstruction.Next,in the levels of words and phrases, sentences, paragraphs and contexts, this report performs case analysis and pins down seven translation strategies, including ostensive representation of terms, transformation of part of speech, relevance projection, ostensive representation of the inference clue, transformation of the implicit information, ostensive explanation of semantic meaning, and explicit logic representation. It is hoped that this research can provide rewarding guidance and reference for the translation research and translation practice of EST.
