Research On The Description Of Female Appearance In Poetry Of The Pre-Qin,and Han Dynasties

Female description is one of the important contents of literary works.The description of female appearance is also a necessary and extremely important aspect of the creation of female images in literary works.The study of female appearance description in literary works is helpful not only for the study of literary works,but also for us to understand the aesthetic concepts to women in the era of the works and even the aesthetic standards to women of the whole society.The most representative poems of the Pre-Qin,and Han Dynasties are The Book of Songs,The Songs of Chu,and the Han Dynasties poetry.This thesis is based on the description of female appearance in these poems.Firstly,this thesis classifies the related poems from four aspects of looks,posture,clothes,and makeup of female appearance description.And then reveals its characteristics.After that,on this basis of this,it discusses the symbiotic relationship between the description of these female appearance and aesthetic ideas to women at that time.This thesis is divided into three parts as following:The first part is the introduction part.It mainly introduces the cause and the significance of this research,the previous research overview,and research contents and methods.Through the analysis and comparison of the description of the female appearance in the The Book of Songs,The Songs of Chu,and the Han Dynasties poetry,and the induction of its characteristics,this thesis tries to grasp the evolution rules of the aesthetic concept reflected in the female appearance description in the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties,and then helps us to better understand the characteristics and rules of ancient Chinese literature,and enrich the achievements of the research on the female description in Ancient Chinese literature.The second part includes three chapters:Chapter one is the research on the description of female appearance in The Book of Songs.Firstly,this part classifies the female appearance verses of The Book of Songs from four aspects of looks,posture,clothes,and makeup.Then,it analyzes the characteristics of female appearance description.And then,it analyzes the relationship between the description of female appearance and the aesthetic view to the women in the Central Plains of the Pre-Qin period.Chapter two is the research on the description of female appearance in The Songs of Chu.Firstly,this part classifies the female appearance verses of The Songs of Chu from four aspects of looks,posture,clothes,and makeup.Then,it analyzes the characteristics of female appearance description.And then,it analyzes the relationship between the description of female appearance and the aesthetic view to the women in the Chu land of the Pre-Qin period.Chapter three is the research on the description of female appearance in the Han Dynasties poetry.Firstly,this part classifies the female appearance verses of the Han Dynasties poetry from four aspects of looks,posture,clothes,and makeup.Then,it analyzes the characteristics of female appearance description.And then,it analyzes the relationship between the description of female appearance and the aesthetic view to the women in the Han Dynasties.The third part is chapter four,The evolution of the description of female appearance in the poetry of the Pre-Qin,and Han Dynasties.Mainly from two aspects of description contents and description methods,based on the research of the first three chapters,and from the perspective of time development,this chapter connects the first three parts,and compare the evolution and development of that.This paper argues that from the perspective and content of the female appearance description,the description of the The Book of Songs,The Songs of Chu,and the Han Dynasties poetry mostly concentrated in looks,posture,clothes,makeup.But the tendency is different,which is showing the change of expression from lyrical expression in the Pre-Qin period to the expression of entertainment based on straight exposure in the Han Dynasty.This thesis,based on the text analysis,provides a powerful complement and new perspective to deepen the study of the poetry and even literature of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties.Due to the limited time and energy,this thesis selects the representative The Book of Songs,The Songs of Chu,and the Han Dynasties poetry to research.In the future,we will continue to study the female appearance description in other styles,such as prose and Fu in the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties,so as to form a whole series of studies.This is complementary to each other and exemplified each other,which is beneficial to the overall grasp of the female appearance description in the period of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties.
