Chilean writer Jos(?) Donoso is one of the chiefs of "El Boom" in the 1960s and 1970s.Influenced by Western modernism,his works include a lot of modern art techniques and surrealist elements,also contain rich and unique characteristics of Latin American culture.His profound exploration of the characters psychologies,as well as the singular themes and grotesque style in his novels make them widely concerned.By putting his creation in the context of Latin American "boom" and the European and American Modernism,this article will focus on the temporal and spatial form of the novels to discuss the realistic basis and influencing factors behind the writing of time and space.Using the theory of narratology,to analysis the narrative discourse features in the text,the ideological characteristics of time and space at the social and psychological levels,the aesthetics and world view connotation of Space-Time.Furthermore,it will provide a possible way to explain the narrative art and spiritual world of Donoso's works,and reveal the polyphonic thinking and Carnivalization tendency of some novels,thus enriching the cognition of the context and the creative form of "boom".
