Terayama Shuji is a very special presence in the Japanese cultural community.In his short life,his career field spanned many aspects such as film,drama,literature,and sports commentary,and he made great achievements in various fields.As a director,Terayama's division only selected five feature films and fifteen short films,but was selected four times for the ten best films in the ten year of Japanese films,and was nominated as the main competition unit of the Cannes Film Festival twice.His films are full of experimental and intense personal colors.His image forms are varied and his contents are completely no restrictions of any kind.This article analyzes Terayama's life,the theme of his films,and features in three chapters.The first chapter examines the author's identity in a comprehensive way by combing the achievements of Terasaku Yamashita in various fields,its position in Japanese underground culture,and his relationship with the Japanese new wave cinema and political movement.The second chapter analyzes three types of character images with crazy colors,clarifies the related topics in the temple films,and excavates the author's own creative motives.The third chapter inspected the "attraction elements" of the two different types of short and long film productions to analyze the visual style and experimental color of the film,basing on the form.Faced with this unique style of the director,this article attempts to creative a deep insight toward his works,cutting in from the above key elements as well as linking with the author's creative consciousness,thus,providing a relatively novel perspective,and also fill the blank of the research of the relevant study.
