With the wide popularity and application of the mobile device,the mode of mobile learning has been spreading out among universities and enriching both the teaching approach and learning style.It advanced the development of modern educational technology and internet multimedia technology,and greatly improved the teaching efficiency.However,some universities,especially the local ones,didn't make good use of the multimedia internet resources and share them in teaching due to shortage of learning environment,deficiency of teaching approach and limits of credit hours.As to these urgent problems,many experts,scholars and teachers have done some researches with a great deal of unique and valued achievement.Enlightened by the previous research,and based on self-learning,constructivism and second language acquisition theories,the author picked the multimedia internet college English self-learning as the theme,by taking non-English major students in Yulin Normal University as the research subjects,adopting questionnaires and interview as the instruments to investigate 438 students' attitudes towards college English mobile learning and their real needs.The investigation was to collect information on facilities,desirability,implement method,application scenarios,and teaching contents and function needed and teaching effect of college English mobile learning.The study aims at seeking the existing problems of internet multimedia in college English teaching and analyzing the reasons;exploring how to take advantage of multimedia technology to serve college English learning;proposing the idea to establish a mode of college English multimedia internet Mobile Self-access Learning based on the current situation at school.What the study revealed are as follows:(1)most students have weak interior motivation to adopt the mobile way to learn English;(2)many students still have no idea about the effective strategy of Mobile Self-access Learning;(3)there appeared to be great possibility to college English self-access learning by use mobile phone;(4)The resources of mobile learning are multifarious;(5)the supervision and assessment of internet multimedia teaching and Mobile Self-access Learning can be improved further.According to the results of study,the author proposed the following suggestion:(1)students should embrace the Mobile Self-access Learning,follow the trend and get used to the new mode;(2)teachers should kindly guide,supervise the students more often,and assist them to adopt proper learning strategy for higher efficiency;(3)the school should provide greater support to the mode of college English multimedia internet Mobile Self-access Learning,allocate related resources to speed up the construction of Mobile Self-access Learning platform according to the learning needs;(4)the evaluation mechanism and excitation mechanism should be more reasonable and effective to stimulate and help student to improve learning efficiency.
